Empowering Veterans and Building Community: A Look at Southern Cross Service Dogs’ Journey

Friends –

As we continue to grow here at Southern Cross Service Dogs, we reflect on the remarkable support and accomplishments that have brought us this far. Our team, consisting of Brandon Marquez, Joey Samuels, Kevin Chabot, and countless others, have been tirelessly committed to building an organization that provides service dogs at no cost to veterans and individuals in need.

For those who may not know, we founded SCSD to provide service dogs to veterans and others in need. These amazing dogs are provided at no cost to recipients. The amount of time and effort that goes into each dog is substantial, a service dog can cost ~$50k to raise and train.

Our journey so far has been highlighted by memorable events, remarkable collaborations, and continuous community support. We’ve hosted unforgettable events like our first annual Lakeside Soiree and the sold-out Inaugural Gala at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. Both events showcased the power of community and the shared dedication to our mission.

We had the opportunity to attend the LIV Golf Tournament at Orange County National, thanks to GOVX’s unwavering support for the veteran community. Our service dog, Lucky, was the only service dog at the event, and we were pleased with every interaction we had with the LIV Golf Staff. This positive experience is what we strive for our veterans to have when taking their service dogs to new places.

Adding to the excitement, we recently worked with renowned actor Cole Hauser and his dog, Muddy. This partnership attests to our dedication and professional expertise, not just to veterans but to all dog owners seeking our services.

Our most recent celebration, the Lakeside Soiree, was a massive success. We are immensely grateful to all attendees, sponsors, and supporters who made this possible. The event was filled with unforgettable moments, smiling faces, and a tangible sense of the positive difference we’re making together.

Every day, we remain focused on our mission – to save lives by providing service dogs to veterans. But we can’t do this alone. The veteran needs the dog, the dog needs Southern Cross, and Southern Cross needs you!

We invite you to join us in this mission, as we continue to transform lives, foster independence, and build a brighter future, one paw at a time. Thank you for your unwavering support.

Hope to see you there!
